Pastor Keith Tanita is the pastor of the Anchor Southbay Church (formerly Southbay Free Methodist Church). He was appointed to the church in October 2013, as the lead pastor to transition the church to become a bigger influence for God's Kingdom in the South Bay area of Los Angeles.
He received his Masters Degree in Christian Education from Talbot Theological Seminary. After receiving his degree, he began a career as an adult probation officer in Maricopa County, Phoenix, Arizona. He was employed with the probation department for 9 years. In 2000, he was hired by the Venice Santa Monica Free Methodist Church as an assistant pastor. Pastor Keith was ordained as elder with the Free Methodist denomination in 2004.
In 2005, he was the founding pastor of the Westlight Community Church in West L.A. In 2009, he left the pastorate at Westlight Community Church, to take a position as a director overseeing a community development project in Kenya, Africa through the Heavenly Treasures organization. In 2012, Heavenly Treasures Kenya transitioned the community project to the local Kenyan staff and leadership. This enabled Pastor Keith to transition back to the PCJC conference part-time as a leadership development mentor until his appointment to the Anchor Southbay Church in 2013.
Pastor Keith has work experience in a variety of career opportunities. This includes experience in secular non-profit government, pastoral ministry, church planting, Christian non-profit, leadership development, and pastoral ministry in a two language church.
Pastor Keith has been married for almost 24 years to Lisa, and has two daughters; Taylor, a sophomore at UC San Diego, and Lindsey, a senior at Culver City High School.
